The Nutmeg Oath (Novel, E-book)

€ 14.95 VAT included · digital download, nothing is shipped

In 1620 Pieter Duynstee, a debt-ridden young clerk from Enkhuizen, sails for Batavia in the service of the Dutch East India Company. His languages bring him onto the fleet that conquers the Banda Islands in 1621 to secure the world's nutmeg, and to a reckoning with what his own ledgers record. A novel of complicity and conscience, set against the documented history of the Banda conquest.
