Preparing More Paratroops for Battle, 1944
A 1944 US newsreel item on the training of additional airborne troops.
Airborne divisions were a new arm in 1944 and had to be produced quickly, which meant training film as well as training grounds. Held by the US National Archives as public-domain government record, footage like this shows how the Allied armies of the last year of the war were assembled and how their operations were explained to the public at home.
