The campaigns of 1066: Harald Hardrada's landing in the north, Harold's forced march, and William's crossing to Sussex.
England faced two invasions in three weeks. Harold beat the Norwegians at Stamford Bridge on 25 September, then marched roughly 400 kilometres south to meet William at Hastings on 14 October with an army that had done it on foot.
