The Great Pyramid of Giza
The pyramid built for Khufu around 2560 BC, the only one of the seven wonders of the ancient world still standing.
For nearly four thousand years the Great Pyramid was the tallest structure humans had built. Its 2.3 million blocks were cut, moved and set to a base that is level to within a few centimetres across more than five hectares, using copper tools, ramps, water and an enormous organised workforce that was fed, housed and paid in grain.
